What happens if you don’t pay your civil demand? (forever 21)?
Okay, so my friend stole from forever 21 and she was freaking out and stuff, and she stole a 5 dollar item. She put down my phone number as her parents number and she put down fake addresses and everything. So now she can’t pay the civil demand, what should she do? She’s really sorry about everything, but now she needs to know how she could pay it off so she won’t feel so guilty and stuff.
Btw she just turned 18 last month, and she gave in her school ID card so they have a copy of it, and we live in NYC. Any help?
She should talk to her parents and ask for their help. They can track her down and sue her for the money.
THe parents can negotiate the amount. I know someone who did that for her daughter, just wrote a letter saying they wanted too much (it was a $3 theft and the law allowed for $50 to $250). Just because they ask for the amount doesn’t mean they would get that amount in court. It’s usually not worth the cost to sue her.
